A pair of supremely elegant and tall bronze lamps with flambeau shades. The classically draped female figures have laurel wreaths in their hair, one carrying a scroll and the other a lyre, standing beneath a foliate canopy and a galleried flambeau shade.

A monumental Japanese Meiji period Imari bottle vase, hand-painted in the classic palette of blue and red on a white ground. The slender neck is decorated with blossoms, more flowering prunus adorns the ribbed body of the vase, with inset panels depicting birds within an ornamental garden.

A charming cut glass and brass chandelier issuing six elegant branches. Suspended from an acanthus corona by diamond shaped chain joined with loops and strung with faceted drops, the body of the chandelier comprises a brass hoop and a glass bowl, surrounded by the slender arms; hung with further drops and beads and topped with baluster shaped candle holders.

A very fine Régence game or centre table with an inset marble occhio di pavone top. The top is a wonderfully fossiliferous black marble speckled with white fossils. The giltwood table is carved with strapwork and a foliate clasp, on lappet-carved cabriole legs issuing foliate sprays raised on hoof feet.

A wonderfully decorative 18th century log or coal bin, hand embossed with an armorial depicting a lion rampant, holding a shield and sword within a foliate cartouche above a lobed based. The ringed handles are held in the mouths of the lion mounts.

A fine antique Louis XVI chimneypiece in a brown and grey toned Rouge du Nord marble. The frieze, centred by a finely carved laurel wreath trailing sprays of laurel to either side, is flanked by acanthus capitals above half round fluted pilaster jambs supported on curved footblocks.

A rare and whimsical chandelier attributed to Sir Edwin Lutyens. This chandelier is decorated with four perching parrots, their beaks holding the the hanging bulbs, with bulbs also suspended from their tails. The parrots are mounted on a central baluster stem and the original chain and matching ceiling rose.

Lutyens designed a series of chandeliers for the nursery of the Viceroy's palace in New Delhi, and they were made in India from wood and painted by local craftspeople. We believe that this chandelier was one of a series made for the palace, or one of colonial bungalows designed by the architect for this great colonial city, many of which have now been destroyed to pave way for redevelopment.

Indian, c.1915.

Sir Edwin Lutyens was the greatest British architect working in the first half of the twentieth century. He was initially celebrated for his great Arts and Crafts country houses of the late 19th century, but his style evolved to encompass the stark classicism which he embraced in the early twentieth-century. His architecture in India was largely neoclassical, but suffused with whimsy and wit.

A large and important Louis XV fireplace in fleur de pêcher marble, almost certainly inspired by those found at the Palace of Versailles. Carved from the most wonderful violet pink fleur de pêcher, it embraces the Rococo style popularised by Louis XV and his palace; with a serpentine form and glorious ormolu rocaille and figurative mounts in the manner of Jacques Caffiéri and his work at Versailles.

A rare 19th century wooden armorial cartouche of shield form, beautifully painted with Bristol's Civic Arms, and the motto "Virtute et Industria" or By Virtue and Industry. This motto and the arms were adopted by the city in the 16th century, and represents the city's maritime heritage and industry. This is a wonderfully decorated cartouche, akin to the hatchments found in churches, but likely to have been displayed in an important civic building, such as the city hall.

A fine French chandelier in gilt bronze and cut glass. The chandelier elegantly hangs from its ornately cast corona, from which issues a slender central stem and some gilt brass beaded chains. These suspend the circular gallery which is beautifully cast with swags and classical masks. The light is beautifully diffused through hanging glass roads and strings of beads.

A fine Tekke Bokhara Carpet. The shaded red-brown field with three columns of stylised floral guls divided by cruciform motifs, in fox-brown border of smaller guls, with a geometric band at each end. This carpet typifies the weaving of the Turkmen tribes.

A rare 19th century 12 branch Bohemian glass chandelier. This unusual chandelier is an example of fine glassmaking, with twisted canes of glass suspending small bellflower shaped pendants, mounted on a slender green baluster stem. The stem issues twelve hand blown branches, each mounted with a green drip pan hung with drops and fluted and gilded storm shades.

Quite the statement piece!

A fine 18th century giltwood Rococo wall mirror. The mirror frame is confidently and finely carved, with c-scrolls, acanthine flourishes and trailing flowers, typical motifs of the Rococo style. The gilding is lovely, and beautifully burnished to give the gold a soft glow.

A large Tekke main Bokhara carpet on a terracotta red ground, woven with many small guls within a cruciform structure and Kilim ends, which are a little worn. The wool is beautifully soft, and this carpet would have been the primary floorcovering in the tents of the Tekke tribe.
