A rare and beautifully engraved set of fifteen prints from the 'Fasti di Napoleone', or Glories of Napoleon, a cycle of frescoes designed and executed by Appiani in the Sala delle Cariatidi in Royal Palace of Milan between 1807-1816. This celebrated set of frescoes no longer survives after being lost to bombing in WW2, but Appiani supervised Giuseppe Longhi's creation of these engravings, so his cycle survives in this carefully rendered set of prints.

A fine and large antique cast iron fireback with the coat of arms for the House of Lorraine. The coat of arms is bordered by a ribboned laurel wreath and flanked by angels or zephyrs floating above the clouds, blowing horns and holding a crown aloft. A fantastically rendered piece of heraldry, and the perfect addition to a large fireplace.

A large and grand Victorian cast iron fire surround of elaborate design. The stepped moulded shelf, with a fine enriched undershelf and fluted panel, rests above an arched frieze with a central shield cartouche flanked by opposing dragons. A large and grand Gothic Revival chimneypiece carved from Belgian blue stone. The deeply moulded cornice shelf rests on the monumental frieze, which is carved from one large piece of stone. This is decorated with a crisply rendered central crest and coat of arms, with the motto "ex-fide-fortis" (from faith comes strength), this is flanked by a pair of floral paterae in the form of roses beneath arching tracery and foliate decoration, on a heavily tooled ground. This sits on slender Gothic console jambs, over moulded footblocks.

Belgian, circa 1890.

The weight of this fireplace requires careful structural consideration.

A pair of small, pleasantly distressed Victorian Aesthetic period wall mirrors, with the diamond registration mark for 1878. Each gilt and ebonised frame is decorated with painted stylised foliage, fruit and flowers in the typically Aesthetic movement style. The central painted tablet at the top of the frame sits below a pediment which is flanked by a balustrade and painted frieze, all topped off with turned finials.

A fine George III period mahogany silver table, in the manner of Thomas Chippendale. This table has a beautiful colour and patina, the figured mahogany rectangular top with plain gallery is set over a finely pierced fretwork frieze and spandrels of scrolling acanthus leaf, supported on square legs with block feet, which retain their original brass castors, these are separated by the arching, x-form fretwork stretcher, decorated with further scrolling acanthus leaf decoration, all centred with a single turned finial.

A very fine Adam Revival pine chimneypiece from the Edwardian period. The shelf, with its dentil undershelf is mounted over the beautifully carved frieze, studded with ram's heads hung with garlands of bellflowers. The slender jambs are carved with urns and more bellflowers. The opening is framed by a simple bead and reel moulding. This fireplace would accommodate a set of marble slips very nicely.

A fine and large profusely decorated French gilt gesso overmantel mirror in the Rococo taste. The deeply moulded arched frame is carved with floral and foliate motifs in low relief, and encloses the original bevelled plate. The pediment is boldly carved with foliate c-scrolls and floral embellishment, centred by a stylised shell.

The centre section having two inlaid marquetry hexagons, with two end drawers to the frieze. An antique marble fountain in the Baroque style, with a tripartite dolphin base each with a water spout in their mouths, their tails supporting the generous lobed bowl, which is topped a putto clutching a dolphin, designed to be seen through the cascade of water with the top spout above. A fine gilt bronze Mazarin style chandelier. The ornate central stem is decorated with foliate scrollwork and term, ram and satyr mounts very much in the Baroque manner.
