Antique Fire Grates & Fire Baskets

A rare oval Regency burnished & polished urn shaped firegrate in the Greek Revival manner of Thomas Hope, with large looped side handles, swag decoration terminating in Rams heads either side and raised on a circular egg and dart base standing on a square plinth on a lower base which contains the ashpan, the front of which has a sliding ventilation control. English early 19th century.

An original very rare Regency cast iron fire basket in the shape of a Baroque Rococo style classical urn. The oviform body with scrolled handles, egg & tongue borders and pierced front with brass pearl-beaded border supported on a round, waisted socle standing on a later ventilated, louvered base.
English early 19th century.

An attractive cast iron and brass Gothic Revival log basket with a shaped back plate. The basket supported on spirally turned columns with pierced stylised trefoil brass detail.
