A monumental Japanese Meiji period Imari bottle vase, hand-painted in the classic palette of blue and red on a white ground. The slender neck is decorated with blossoms, more flowering prunus adorns the ribbed body of the vase, with inset panels depicting birds within an ornamental garden.
Japanese, late 19th century.
Could work well flanked by a small set of vases, such as Stock No.15557.
