A beautifully enriched Louis XV Rococo fireplace in a very subtly mottled white carrara marble. The serpentine shelf rests over a panelled frieze of the same form, which is centred by a shell cartouche from which emanate trailing foliage and flowers. This is flanked by the c-scroll and shell endblocks over scrolling console jambs.
French, mid-19th century.
