Stock No.15645
A magnificent Louis XIV chimneypiece in dramatically veined portoro marble. The serpentine shelf rests above the undulating frieze, which is centred by a rococo shell motif. The panelled endblocks frame the frieze and are supported by panelled jambs adorned by sinuous foliate carving.
French, early 19th century.
