About us

1969, THE COMPANY was first established by Geoff Westland specialising in sourcing 18th and 19th century English furniture and decorative elements in England and shipping and selling to dealers, architects, designers and individuals in Europe with premises in Islington, London and a warehouse in Frankfurt am Main, central Germany.

1977: THE ACTIVITY relocated its base to St Michael's church, in central London and concentrated on shipping antiques worldwide and refurbishing the fabric of the Mark Street complex of church, clergy house and the school hall. The church, by architect James Brookes, is a Grade I listed building, and the other two buildings, Grade II, had taken 2 years to build in 1865 and the doors closed in 1964, 99 years later, as the population in the area had declined in the post war years.

1980s, THE EMPHASIS was on architectural items, extraordinary antique fireplace mantels and elements for the exterior and interior in the grand manner. The church settings gradually evolved into dramatic scenarios where antique panelled rooms, fountains, sculptures, furniture, paintings and chimneypieces were displayed to great effect.

1990's, TO THE PRESENT, the accent has been on finding, restoring and presenting a vast and comprehensive collection of antique and prestigious chimneypieces, antique fire grates, architectural elements, antique lighting & chandeliers, and ornamentation ranging from Gothic and Renaissance to Victorian and Art Deco, originating over the centuries from the British Isles, Ireland, Italy, France, Flanders, Spain and elsewhere, often of exotic & extraordinary quality, concept and style.

THE LATE 1990s: THE WEBSITE was commissioned and has increased and multiplied to the present very comprehensive, simple and user-friendly format which serves as the catalogue and a reference source.

THE NEW MILLENNIUM: The display has continued to evolve in our numerous galleries and chapels in the spectacular vaulted interior of this English Heritage listed, former church of St. Michael's in central London and in the nearby warehouse. Displayed to advantage are many fascinating examples of all styles, epochs and provenances. Stock is constantly changing and being replaced by ever more interesting and attractive examples from a very wide-ranging procurement activity.
