A TALL CARVED OAK, POLYCHROME PAINTED & GILDED CAMPANILE in the Venetian Renaissance Gothic Revival manner. Built in the manner of an Italian Campanile or Bell Tower with tiled rooves under four small triangular pedimented arches, and again over four larger pediments... supported on four typical Venetian Gothic open curved arches which in turn rest on capital topped columns. Italian, late 19th century.
NOTES : Big Ben, the great bell in the clock, is also housed in a Campanile on the banks of the Thames. A massive Campanile was also planned for our premises, the former St Michaels Church...but never built....see images.
