A small and smart Georgian fire basket of serpentine form in cast iron and brass. The ornate fire back depicts Jonah and the whale as the creature is about to swallow the prophet. This is supported by brass shoulders engraved with urns, beneath which is a beautifully pierced apron with a Greek key decoration interspersed with scrolling foliate motifs.
