An elegant pair of Neoclassical style twin branch brass wall lights, the central stem topped with typical Adam style ribbon bows beneath which are finely cast spread winged eagles perched on medallions holding chains in their beaks the stem terminating in knots.
English early 20th century.

Notes: The eagle traditionally symbolized strength, courage, farsightedness and immortality. Where it’s wings were spread it also signified protection. This symbol occurs frequently in Greek, Roman & Nordic mythology as well as the Judeo-Christian scriptures.
