A pair of late Meiji period hand painted Japanese Imari porcelain vases and covers of lobed inverted baluster form. The bodies decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron red, with panels containing birds and naturalistic flowers, on a foliate and stylised chrysanthemum ground.
