A charming and delicately carved mid-nineteenth century chimneypiece in statuary marble. The wide shelf rests over a frieze carved in low relief with a central urn, from which trails convolvulus; which was considered to represent bonds in Victorian floriography. This floral carving is echoed on the endblocks, whilst the flat jambs are carved with arched panels of Renaissance style rinceau.
