A large carved oak chimneypiece in the Italian Renaissance Revival manner. The wide moulded shelf sits over the barrel frieze which is carved with floral designs and strapwork and flanked by lion masks at each end. This is supported on scrolled capitaled fluted columns with typical carved lower sections in the Venetian manner. The under frieze between these is carved in three stylised floral panels. With restorations. Mid 19th century.
