A carved Caen Stone Reformed Gothic Chimenypiece and Overmantel in the manner of Bruce James Talbert, architect, decorator 1838-1881. Its unusual and intriguing architectural format and detail, with carved pantiles on the three-sided pitched "roof " ovemantel hood being a great part of its charm. The upper frieze is carved in high relief with floral decoration as is the lower frieze which is flanked by Moorish window-styled alcoves, supported on Connemara Irish green marble columns with floral capitals. Further decoration is in scagliola flower designs.
English, mid 19th century. Provenance known.
