An arched Thomas Elsley fireback in the Baroque manner with date 1630, Monarchs initials GS...a prancing charger ridden by a heroic rider in Roman style armour, possibly commemorating Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden who in June 1630 landed with Swedish troops in Pomerania, Germany to aid the Protestants.
