Stock No: 15200
An interesting Louis XVI style cast iron fire side fender and tool rests with a Roman theme. The serpentine curb bar has a central beaded roundel featuring the head of Caesar in profile flanked by trailing floral and acanthus foliate mounts. It is accompanied by a pair of unusual tool rests in the form of Roman Gods. One of Venus holding a conch and a mirror, the other of Mars holding a war club. Each is rising from ornate acanthus mounts before the scrolling tool rest bars. French, circa 1860.
Please note there is a small piece missing to the centre top of the curb bar.
