Dockland History an East India Company Bell

An important piece of London's dockland history. This large bell was originally cast in 1737 for The East India Company. The cast inscription reads " R.P. 1737 THE HONARABLE EAST INDIA COMPANYS BELL AT THEIR CHAPEL IN POPLAR." and on the reverse "RECAST 1966 MEARS LONDON.
English circa 1737, recast in 1966.
