A PERIOD LATE 18TH CENTURY GEORGE III CHIMNEYPIECE CARVED IN WHITE STATUARY MARBLE. The moulded inverted breakfront shelf above a frieze centred by a rectangular tablet carved with a roundel of Cupid holding a bow and two winged putti attendants holding a quiver of arrows, a pair of love birds to the foreground, suspended from ribbon tied drapery, flanked by tied sheaves of wheat, the side blocks carved with flowers, the jambs with outset columns with Ionic capitals on block feet. English, late 18th century.
