Large Antique Neo-Classical White Statuary Marble Fireplace Mantel

A GRAND AND IMPRESSIVE CARVED WHITE STATUARY MARBLE CHIMNEYPIECE in the Palladian Revival manner.The large moulded breakfront shelf supported over the carved frieze with central scrolled motif continued with bell flower design flanked by the massive likewise scrolled angled console jambs dramatically topped by double Palmettes either side, descending through contra- scrolled and high relief fluted lower jambs terminating in Anthymeon floral decoration. With restorations. Scottish, early 19th century.
