A large period Louis XVI French stone chimneypiece carved hard limestone.The integral breakfronted shelf and frieze with carved arrow in a quiver crossed with a flaming torch against olive branch background on the central plaque..symbolising Victory and Peace, flanked by raised panels and circular floral paterae.This is supported on panelled and fluted jambs. Image before restoration, in progress. French late 18th century.
