11229. A very large arched carved stone pediment removed from the roof papapet over the main entrance of the Beaumont Hall Hotel, Clacton in Essex. The coat of arms shows two rampant Talbot hunting hounds supporting a central shield above which is a carved galleon, derived from the municipal crest of the town of Clacton, the whole carved with acanthus scroll work. Preliminary image before restoration and cleaning. English, late 19th century.
