A Substantial English Regency chimneypiece in the Greek Revival manner richly carved in white statuary marble. The wide moulded shelf above the frieze centred by a tablet carved in relief depicting a classical scene of a noble lady and her maid in waiting consulting an academic, and flanked by two pairs of florally filled Cornucopia.The projecting endblocks carved with delicatley pierced round floral Paterae supported on barefooted Vestal Maidens to the jambs,Each of the standing figures classically attired bearing incense burners and raised on a block feet.English circa 1805, Known Warwickshire Provenance.
