A 19th century composition stone fountain in the 17th century Italian Baroque manner, together with a Coalbrookedale cast iron figure of a Putto with a swan..also 19th century. The large clamshell bowl supported on three intertwined Dolphins.- probably by Blashfield. English, 19th Century.

NOTE : John Merriott Blashfield 1811-1882... was a 19th century English manufacturer of architectural terracotta elements and garden ornaments. In 1836 he bought a number of Coade's old moulds and later opened his own terracotta works in Poplar, London where in 1854 he employed the sculptor John Bell as modeller, amongst several other top names. In 1858 he moved to Stamford, Lincolnshire. Soon afterwards he formed the Stamford Terra Cotta Company (Blashfield) Ltd.
