9689. A French Gothic Revival walnut chimneypiece. The hooded overmantel with carved foliage at the corners, above a frieze centred by a strapwork shield cartouche centred by a carved letter B, flanked to each side by seated mythological beasts and a frieze of mouchettes, the angles with arches and plissage to the sides, above a fire surround with carved foliate frieze of flower-heads, supported by two fluted columns with scrolling leaf capitals, each surmounted by a carved head, on a square stepped base.
