A magnificent Alabaster hunting frieze superbly carved in high relief. The scene depicts a young Nobleman aiming his bow in the forest with his huntsman blowing a horn, a javelin thrower, baying hounds chasing a stag in full flight, birds flying from the trees, a faun and a little rabbit in the foreground.
English 19th century, in the Medieval style, ( photo before restoration ).
