10122. A large tiled arched Victorian cast iron register grate, the 34 tiles probably by Minton...specially made for this shaped grate...with a stylised Renaissance motif fired in Ivory on a Burgundy background .The foundry mark " Wrights Patent Bivalve " on the Shell decorated arched ventilation door, with bowed firebars between large spirally decorated posts either side . The front plate can be enlarged to fit a considerably larger opening. English mid 19th century.
