An arched fireback in the Baroque manner with date 1630, Monarchs initials GS...a prancing charger ridden by a heroic rider in Roman style armour... possibly commemorating Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden who in June 1630 – landed with Swedish troops in Pomerania, Germany to aid the Protestants. 19th century possibly much earlier.
