COMMENT : " Clear linear character and honest craftsmanship. "

A pair of George III style jasperware andirons in the Greek Revival manner with octagonal Wedgwood Jasperware panels depicting classical maiden musicians and dancers, set in silvered plated brass frames with well defined foliate scrolls beneath palmette finials, on rectangular plinths with disk feet. Images before restoration….Reminiscent of the Jasperware plaques used by the Scottish Architect Charles Cameron to decorate Catherine the Great’s bedroom chimneypiece at Tsarskoe Selo near St Petersburg in the 1780s...see image below.
