A lifesize , lifelike carved marble bust of the Roman Emperor Tiberius.
The head and shoulders clad in the toga and mail breast plate with the head of Medusa carved in statuary and Venetto marble seated on a plinth in Sarin Colin marble.Tiberius who followed Augustus, his stepfather, was the second Emperor in the Principate system which followed the Republic and ruled from 14-37 AD. He was talented but retiring and confused the Senate. His reign achieved little but served as the "adolescence" of the principate which was started by the autocratic and determined Augustus.
