4307 . A SET OF THREE LARGE BAROQUE MANNERIST CARVED OAK BRACKETS comprising a pair and a single , the central bracket dated 1679. All three appear to have supported barefooted statues.. witness the footprints visible on the tops of each. The main body of each is carved from a solid tree trunk and all evidence confirms that they are of the period stated, possibly from one of the 50 Baroque churches erected in London after the Great Fire of 1666 by Sir Christopher Wren, Nicholas Hawksmoor et al ...or another formal building of the period. English ca 1679..
