A FINE VICTORIAN BRASS EAGLE LECTERN. The eagle, cast in solid brass is particulary lifelike with good definition, its talons gripping a half orb on a sectional column plinth with a conical base with four lion paw feet: The base is engraved 'In memory of Arthur James Thorman formerly Churchwarden of this Parish who died Oct 14th 1906 " Servant of God - Well Done ". Provenance: Believed to have come from St James Church, Hatcham, New Cross, London...declared redundant in the 1980's.
