9219 . MYRTLE FLOWER: A large Arts and Crafts Oak chimneypiece the moulded shelf with dentil decoration over egg and dart break-fronted undershelf detail, the frieze with central circular sunflower motif, Myrtle plants carving either side.. also on the jamb panels seated in urns.
Floral carving on the ingrounds and strapwork in the lower panels, possibly by Richard Norman Shaw RA, born in Edinburgh, 1831-1928, and the architect of Scotland Yard, residences in Pont St , Knightsbridge & large country houses such as Grims Dyke , Crag Side….first hydro-electrically lit house in the world.
