Antique Victorian Green and Black Marble Palladian Fireplace

A VERY LARGE EARLY VICTORIAN CHIMNEYPIECE IN THE PALLADIAN MANNER . Of substantial proportions in Belgian Black and Verde Antico Green marble. The plain moulded shelf sits over a massive scrolled central bracket carved with Acanthus and a Laurel leaf garland which centers a broad moulded inground, in the manner of William Kent, with four carved Rosettes at the corners, standing on large green marble footblocks. English early 19th century. Shown below with the original Minton tiled cast iron and steel insert / integral firegrate,10975.
