10339. A substantial carved Carrara marble Chimneypiece in the Jacobean Revival mannner. The large moulded shelf which breaks back at the ends is supported on a straight frieze decorated with floral Paterae interspersed with fielded lozenges over boldly shaped carved jambs with Ionic scrolled capitals ,and reverse tapered panels florally adorned , flanking the opening which has large C brackets in the top corners. Scottish.With original marble fender. Known Provenance, early 19th Century.
