10180. FLORA AND ZEPHYR...THE GODDESS AND THE WEST WIND...A splendid French Rococo Revival Cheminee in the most richly figured Breche Violette marble with sumptuous applied gilt bronze decoration and the dark bronze patinated and gilded butterfly winged caryatids of the lovers Flora, the Goddess of Spring and Zephyr, the West wind.... in the manner of Antonio Canova. Similar to one in the Wallace Collection , Hertford House , Manchester Square , London WI. There is also a larger example at Palais de Versailles in Rouge Griotte marble ,in the Dauphins Chambre. Circa 1850.
