A tall impressive profusely carved walnut Chimneypiece in the Renaissance manner.The cornice carved with scrolled carved detail , over cared Palmette detail on the middle moulding beneath which the frieze is again carved with floral detail but larger and intespersed with mythic creatures...Angels , dragons , birds. The whole supported on tall fluted columns topped with Venetian carved capitals. Italian / French mid 19th century.
