A tall impressive profusely carved walnut Chimneypiece in the Renaissance manner. The cornice carved with scrolled carved detail, over cared Palmette detail on the middle moulding beneath which the frieze is again carved with floral detail but larger and interspersed with mythic creatures...Angels, dragons, birds. The whole supported on tall fluted columns topped with Venetian carved capitals. Italian / French mid 19th century.
