AN ARTS AND CRAFTS CARVED STONE CHIMNEYPIECE AND OVERMANTLE in the Neo Gothic manner of Bruce James Talbert , Architect , decorator 1838-1881. Its unusual and intriguing Architectural format and detail, with carved pantiles on the three-sided pitched "roof " ovemantel hood being a great part of its charm. The upper frieze is carved in high relief with floral decoration as is the lower frieze..which is flanked by Moorish window styled alcoves, supported on Connemara Irish green marble columns with floral capitals. Further decoration is in Scagliola flower designs. English mid 19th century.
