10293. A large carved limestone chimneypiece with panelled oak hood in the Italian Renaissance manner. The cantilevered stone jambs are carved with snarling Lion masks under scrolled tops with descending high relief carved fruit swags and panelled sides.The whole surmounted by a later panelled oak hood. Late 19th century. Shown with Brass insert 4804.
