10898. A well proportioned Louis XVI cheminee in Bleu Turquin grey figured marble with applied decoration in Giallo Sienna marble. The simple shelf sits on the breakfront frieze the panel of which has quadrant Sienna piping , flanked by enblocks adorned with large Palmettes also in Sienna marble, supported on large scrolled and fluted consoles with applied Sienna reeding and mouldings below. French , late 19th century.
