A SUBSTANTIAL NEO CLASSICAL ITALIAN CHIMNEYPIECE richly carved in white marble with Sienna marble fluted columns. The breakfronted frieze under a straight shelf centered by a tablet carved with a wide stylised floral Anthymion swag, flanked by further floral motifs on the side panels and endblockings, all supported on Corinthian capital'd, fluted columns in finely veined yellow Siena marble. The opening has a border of carved egg and dart. Italian, 19th century.
