8356. A very elegantly proportioned and Louis XIV style Carrara marble chimneypiece carved in high relief in the Palladian Revival manner. The breakfronted shelf over a panelled frieze centered by a circular medallion showing a Grecian female profile, bordered with palm fronds and floral decoration, the endblocks with high relief acanthus foliage over graciously scrolled side consoles.
