8132. MUSEE DES ARTS DECORATIF BAROQUE : A large and decorative Louis XIV late Baroque style oak antique mantel with richly carved detail, Portora marble ingrounds & fender, ceramic tiles and a patinated metal hood. Very similar to one in Musee des Arts Decoratifs in The Louvre, Paris.
PROVENANCE : A large villa in the Bishops Avenue, Hampstead, London.French, 1875 (excludes fireback [8133] and Puginesque andirons [8144]). See image below of label attatched to the rear stating: Mr Widderton, Une Cheminee Chene.
