The Antique Baroque design period evolved in the 1600s preceded by the Mannerist design movement and followed by the Rococo style. Grand and impressive, originating in Italy Antique Italian Baroque was followed by French, German, Bohemian, Polish , Spanish , Ukrainian, Flemish and English where leading architects were Wren..St Pauls Cathedral Vanbrugh, Catle Howard & Hawksmoor, St Lukes Spitalfields. City and Country Baroque fireplaces and architecture, which are themselves edifices in miniature, proliferated. This bold and heroic style, monumental and moving, even regarded as protective and reassuring, often affecting deeply the emotions, and noted for its manifest qualities of endurance.
