9438. A VERY SMALL GEORGE III PERIOD CARVED PINE CHIMNEYPIECE. The stepped shelf carved with small Palmettes beneath pearl beading , over a continuosly fluted frieze with acanthus leaves carved into each flute. Phoenix Firebird heads carved into circular Guilloche or ropetwist decorated rings at either end, and egg and dart carved ingrounds on three sides of the opening. 1st image shows without the marble ingrounds which would normally be fitted and could be similar to those on 8981 or as shown digitally. English circa 1780.
