9239 : A GRAND AND IMPRESSIVE PALLADIAN chimneypiece finely carved in Portland stone . The shelf carving in high relief with repeating Acanthus leaf motif, over boldly scaled egg and dart over lambs tongue detail. The main ingrounds carved with continuous Guilloche motif. One of a near Pair. Photo before restoration and rebuilding using original 19th century elements , now in progress. English , late 19th century.
