An important and rare mid Georgian period English Rococo fireplace in Statuary and Maurin Green Marble possibly by Sir Henry Cheere (1703-1781).
English circa 1750.

Notes: Part of the research already done shows that a very similar chimneypiece originates in Woodcote House in Surrey, rebuilt in 1750 designed by Sir Henry Cheere and the sculptor was Isaac Ware. This chimneypiece is related in style and quality to our stock no 9180.
