TULA , RUSSIAN EQUIVALENT OF CARRON AND KRUPP: A rare pair of Russian "Tula "Fire Tools augmented with a later matching stand and poker. Late 18th early 19th century.

TULA, the birthplace of Tolstoy, has been the centre of Russian armaments production since the time of Peter The Great.There is an iron chimneypiece in the Victoria and Albert Museum, South Kensington from the Tula factory.
