An attractive Neo Gothic intricately carved oak baptismal font in the manner of Augustus Pugin, 1814-1852. The cover with its floral cockade lifts off to reveal the small white china baptismal bowl. The carved detail is mostly of high relief floral motifs supported on the base with clerestory windows all round. English dated 1891.

Provenance : Eldon Chapel, Leeds, made by Danby's upholstery and cabinet works , Leeds, by carver H Coates and H Smart.
